All of our leathers are produced in a tannery In Italy. We use full grain leather, meaning the top part of the skin that has not been sanded or buffed. The entire sofa in made with 100% leather. The animals are exposed to many different types of environmental elements.

Natural full grain leather will proudly show the marks and scars the animal obtained during its life. It is normal for some of these marks to show on your sofa, not affecting the quality of the leather, to show it authenticity.
These natural hides are produced in a way that does not alter their natural characteristics. Scars, grain variations, wrinkles, stretch marks and variations in color will show that our leathers are absolutely natural and of high value.

In order to produce BOVIN leather, a careful selection of raw hides must be carried out by the tannery, in order to obtain the desired effect.

The BOVIN leather is a natural leather that emphasizes all the natural characteristics of the animal. Scars, stretch marks, insect bites, variation of grain and color are all visible and completely normal for this type of leather.
During the dye process, a light coat of wax is applied to the hide to conserve these natural marks, however this addition makes the hide more sensitive to sebum and the natural oils in our body and to friction.

You will also notice a discoloration at the edges, seams and places most stressed by use. This will give your furniture an old-fashioned appearance. This process can happen gradually or rapidly depending on the type of seams you have and is completely normal.
