Legal guarantee
The law provides a warranty on the goods you buy: they must be able to serve their normal use for a reasonable period of time. The Consumer Protection Act provides a warranty on all goods you buy or rent from a merchant. The goods must be able to serve: the use for which they are normally intended (section 37 of the Act); normal use for a reasonable period of time, which may vary depending on the price paid, the provisions of the contract and the conditions of use (section 38 of the Act).
